Carding and Dying Wool 1) Take the carding brushes and place the previously cleaned wool on them 2) Having the brushes opposite directions with the needles facing each other place them on top of each other. 3) Continue brushing out the wool until it is clean and soft. 4) Gently lift the wool off of the brushes. Dying Wool 1) Get a bucket, vinegar, salt, and packets of koolaide. 2) Add 3 to 6 cups of hot water to the bucket. 3) 1 and 1/4 cups vinegar to the water. 4) Add a tablespoon of table salt to the bucket. 5) Add two packets of koolaide to the bucket. (Whichever color is needed) 6) Add a 6 by 6 inch piece of wool to the bucket while everything is mixed inside. 7) Let sit for about a day or until it is at the color needed. (TIP: Place a plate or bowl in the water over the wool to hold the wool down in the dye. 8) When finished dying take it out and have it sit in a dry space until it has fully dried. |
